And now for something completely different………when we heard "The Ducks have landed at Lake Tahoe", we thought, well, yeah, there are ducks here. Plenty of geese, too.  Turns out, though, that we were thinking of the feathered variety, which are not the ones we'll be talking about here! 

A new and truly unique business has opened in South LakeTahoe, Tahoe Duck Tours. They offer land and lake rides,and guess what, you tour aboard a vintage WWII amphibious truck (called a DUCK).

Duck CrossingDuck Tours are a modern repurposing of these historic vehicles, allowing you to experience the sights and sounds of Lake Tahoe from both land and water.  Visitors and locals alike can leave their cars behind and hop aboard this boat with wheels to get a closer look at our local flora and fauna.

Imagine cruising through the trees with the wind and scent of pine trees wafting by as you gaze at picturesque Mt. Tallac or the crystal blue waters of the lake.  A seamless transition from land to sea…..now that's the way to go!

This is a great way to sightsee at the lake, and the captain is also your tour guide, sharing stories about Lake Tahoe and its history.

Tours are offered daily during the summer months, with limited tours available in the spring and fall.  Private charters, weddings, etc, are also available for groups of up to 24 persons.
