South Lake Tahoe Event Spotlight: Kids’ Fishing Derby at Sawmill Pond

Free Fishing for the Small Fry of South Lake Tahoe!

Every once in a while, there's a special event that we'd love to participate in, but can't ….because we're too old. The annual Sawmill Pond Kids’ Fishing Derby  in South Lake Tahoe is one of those events.  We can't think of a better way to involve the kids in local activities where they can make new friends and enjoy a little healthy competition.

All kids under 14 are welcome to participate in the free derby. We oldies can watch, but only the kids get to fish!

If the kids don’t have a fishing pole, the guides from Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters will be there with some loaners.  No lures can be used during the derby, so there will be no "unfair competition".

The Optimist Club will provide barbecued hot dogs and refreshments.

Date:        Saturday June 5, 2010
Time:       8am to 12 noon
Location: Sawmill Pond (intersection of Sawmill Pond Rd. and Lake Tahoe Blvd.)
