Continuing Education… Keeping Up on Real Estate Law in Nevada
January 1st, 2010 categories: About Us, For Buyers, For Sellers, Lake Tahoe Real Estate, South Lake Tahoe, CA, Stateline, NV
24 hours of classes in Nevada every two years!
"Up in the morning, and out to school. The teacher is teaching the golden rule!"
It’s that time again, and it’s back to school time now. Every two years we are required to take 24 hours of continuing education fo maintain our Nevada real estate license. (It’s every four years for our California license, and those courses and requirements are different – yes, we get to do this twice!)
The idea of this, of course, is to better serve the public good, and it’s one we like. Real estate law in particular is fascinating. The idea behind much of it is to best protect the Buyer.
In our first exposure to real estate law, we discovered this key underlying concept (looking for common denominators is how we think), and what’s cool about that to us is this: if a buyer is protected properly on the front end, all should be right when that buyer becomes a seller on the back end.
Each NV continuing education course takes 3-hours, and we have to take 8 of them. At the end of each is a test we must pass. We also like the idea of each test, not only because it keeps us on our back-to-school-and-serve-the-public-toes, but also because it means our colleagues and those of us that serve you, are theoretically always up to game speed as well. (This ain’t no time for the class clown, Charlie Brown!)
We thought you might appreciate seeing the courses we’re taking below:
