Homeowner Cash Benefits for Energy Efficiency
December 14th, 2009 categories: For Buyers, For Sellers, Lake Tahoe Real Estate, National real estate news, South Lake Tahoe, CA, Stateline, NV
"Cash for Caulkers" could provide up to $12,000 per home.
The Admin proposed a new program last week that would reimburse homeowners for for energy-efficient appliances and home insulation. This is part of a broader proposed plan to spark the U. S. economy.
The admin further stated that they will work with Congress on crafting legislation that could provide a homeowner with up to $12,000 in rebate benefits.
In two parts, the proposed program centers on providing money for homeowners for efficiency projects, and money for companies in the renewable energy and efficiency space. It also includes money for small businesses, renewable energy manufacturing, and infrastructure.
Energy efficiency creates jobs, saves money for families, and reduces the pollution that threatens our environment. This is the thinking behind the new proposed legislation.
Obviously any proposal that requires Congressional legislation is a distance away from becoming law; it may, or may not come to pass, and it could very well take a very long time.
Politics aside, we think anything that might give benefit to homeowners is a good idea. Lets hope it comes to pass sooner rather than later.
