Saturday, February 23rd at the Lake Tahoe Community College Library.
These are fun, and information packed too. We did three of them last year, and this is the first Real Estate Seminar for us this year.
Lets get to the when and where particulars first: the Board Room in the Lake Tahoe Community College Library, One College Drive, at 9:30 am on Saturday, February 23, 2008. We’ll be finished about half past noon and refreshments will be served. It’s Free for the public, of course, and if you already have a real estate agent, bring them too. We’ve had as many as 50 people attend our seminars. The first one we did was on Nov. 1 of 2006. The idea that sparked doing a real estate seminar in the first place was the extraordinary number of "expired" listings at that time.
We were crunching numbers as we always seem to do, and Wow, there it startlingly was: there were 622 listings that did not sell in South Lake Tahoe in 2006 (and there were more in 2007). In years prior, before the market evolved, there were normally only about 70 or so houses that did not sell.
With so may homes that weren’t selling, we thought it would be helpful for people to better understand their current real estate market condition. We reasoned doing a free public seminar about our real estate market might be a good way to do that. We thought we’d produce it with information that would help Buyers and Sellers alike. Then we set a date, took a deep breath, a leap of faith and went to work. We had no idea if it would work, if anyone would attend or not.
Well, more than 50 people showed up. And it was a blast. There was lots of interaction, questions, things all of us learned together, and most importantly our efforts seemed to be helpful. That’s what the crowd told us anyway, and later our information in fact helped many of them successfully sell their house. Some of them we know for sure because they asked us to sell their house for them. We were most grateful.

- if you are selling, or thinking about selling, here’s what you need to know to sell at top market value, and within your time frame.
- if you’re buying, or thinking of buying, here’s what you need to know to make sure you don’t pay too much, and you won’t miss a thing.
