Two Opposing, One Facilitating Force works for the Public Good.
Perhaps it’s not how our government actually functions these days, but there are certain concepts in a residential home sale that remind us of how our government was designed to work, through a balance of three separate, autonomous powers. The idea of it is always for the public good.
There are three forces to every real estate transaction, two opposing, one facilitating. Out of that, a balance exists for the greater good, and best interests of all involved.

Home Prices Are Down, and So Is Confidence

Home prices dropped again in August and consumer confidence remained at the lowest level in two years, reinforcing investors’ bleak expectations for the economy, a new report showed today. The trouble signs came as Federal Reserve policy makers began a two-day meeting that could culminate in an interest rate cut.

Today’s National Existing Home Sales Report

U.S. Economy: Existing Home Sales Tumble 8%.

Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) — The U.S. housing industry plunged deeper into recession last month as the August credit-market collapse made it harder for buyers to obtain loans.
Sales of previously owned homes fell 8 percent in September to an annual rate of 5.04 million, the fewest since records began in 1999, the National Association of Realtors said in Washington. The decline was almost twice as steep as economists forecast, while the median price dropped the most in almost a year. Read the rest of this entry »
